Electric Insurance, the national personal and commercial insurance provider, just introduced a new service to its line that makes it easier for clients to schedule auto glass repair arrangements, among other things.  The insurance provider’s Always On Mobile Application permits people with iDevices (such as iPhones and iPads) to perform a variety of self-service insurance functions that can greatly speed up the insurance and claims process in many ways.

According to company executives, the functions of the Always On app are myriad, covering auto glass repair scheduling, submission of automotive claims, roadside assistance service request and arrangement, coverage status checking, and even insurance information exchange, all direct from the mobile device in question.  The CIO of Electric Insurance, Tom Stumpek, has called the delivery of mobile solutions to clients a “key business strategy” for the company, especially in terms of its aims to provide higher and better service advantages for policyholders.

The Always On application is apparently going to be seeing further development in years to come, in order for the company to ensure that it keeps up with changing trends and new technological developments.  It is in keeping with this drive towards the future and the constant update of technology that the Always On application has also been equipped with what company executives are touting as a unique feature of their service app: a locator for electric vehicles’ charging stations.

The VP of Sales and Marketing for Electric Insurance explained the incorporation of this feature as one that was only to be expected given the rise in numbers of electric vehicles on American roads.  The company’s relationship to GE was also invoked, as it was explained that GE would soon be having a sizable fleet of electric cars itself in the coming years.  Given that Electric Insurance is affiliated with GE—in fact, it was begun as an insurance solution for GE employees before it expanded its offerings to those outside the GE group—it is only appropriate for it to acknowledge this coming trend in North American automobiles.  Electric Insurance has also released information that it plans to install its own charging station for electric vehicles by next year.  This station shall be available to everyone.

The advantages of the Always On Mobile Application are easy to see, and Electric Insurance policyholders have thus far responded positively to the release, finding it a handy device for scheduling unexpected insurance needs on the go, from auto glass repairs to full-on tow services.  The application was developed with Sword Insurance, which specializes in mobile solutions and mobile device applications for companies in the insurance industry.  Electric Insurance CIO Stumpek has professed the company pleased with the collaboration thus far and praised Sword Insurance for its professionalism.
